Mister Two Hundred

I'm over two hundred pages into my second novel. It's quite a bit different than BLACK DOGS, namely that I avoided including two things I have very little experience in: the 1970's and Baltimore. No, this sucker takes place right here, right now and is set in my beloved Chicago. And while BLACK DOGS was heavily influenced by the Stones, Stooges and Skynyrd, Book Two is built around the Beastie Boy's "Paul's Boutique" album. Fleetwood Broughams. Angel dust. Stolen cars. Pick up the 20th Anniversary Edition pronto.

I've met the Beastie Boys a few times. Once, in a record store in Milwaukee during their "Check Your Head" tour. I have a photo with them on my fridge. I have a ponytail. It's ridiculous. Another time was at a listening event for their album "To the Five Boroughs." I got off the elevator and someone told me it was the door at the end of the hall. There were two doors. I beat on the left door until AdRock threw it open and said, "What the fuck are you doing?" Turns out they were mixing in there and the event was through the right door. My fault.

Lots of people asking about the BLACK DOGS movie. No real update. The second draft of the script is with the director and producer. Waiting to hear back. Hopefully we can get something rolling.

Speak soon. Stay lucky.
