While we're working out the details of the BLACK DOGS movie, I started thinking about the soundtrack. I mention a few songs in the book but a movie would have plenty more. Obviously, we'd love to have some Zeppelin but what else? The one rule: Since the movie takes place in July 1973, the song has to have been released before that. It's tougher than you think! A few songs I would love to have:
1. The Faces "Borstal Boys" - The closet the Faces ever got to punk rock. One of my favorite bands.
2. Deep Purple "Highway Star" -Seems like there has to be a scene with this song. The riff is huge.
3. Traffic "Dear Mr. Fantasy" -Totally underrated song. Used to spin this a lot when I worked at a record store as a teenager.
4. Humble Pie "Big Black Dog" or "The Sad Bag of Shaky Jake" -Either one of these would make a perfect mood song.
5. Black Sabbath- I can name about 10 Sabbath songs I'd love to have in the movie including "Supernaut," "Electric Funeral," and plenty of others.
Got any ideas? Post them here or email me!
